My Frustrations in Trying to Book a COVID Vaccination Appointment

I thought I had finally nailed it!

Like so many people who ‘’qualify” for a vaccination, I’ve registered on four lists and I spend time throughout the day going to other sites looking for an opportunity to book an appointment.

I’ve even subscribed to two Twitter sites where volunteers do a lot of the heavy lifting for the rest of us. Pursuing websites. And sending out alerts as soon as appointments open up.

Unfortunately there are a LOT of other people also following these Twitter feeds. And I’ve never been able to click on the link in time to register. Until this morning.

Suddenly I found myself on the Rite Aid site. I chose a location, a date and a time. And there it appeared on my iPhone. My name. The location of the pharmacy. The date. The time. I was IN. Or so I thought.

Now they wanted to know all about me. My date of birth. My medical history. Other vaccines I may have taken. My home address, email and cellphone number. The name, address and phone number of my primary care physician. My permission to share my vaccine history with him.

I carefully and dutifully filled out all the required information. No way was I going to lose this opportunity by answering any of the questions incorrectly. Or by…
