The Angels Who Help People Get Vaccination Appointments
There is a lot of negativity in our divided society these days. And God knows there’s a lot of bullying going on on social media. Where people can hide behind a screen name and make life miserable for others.
But my faith in humanity … and in the positive potential of social media … was restored this week by an angel named Amanda Yeager.
I don’t even know Amanda. But when I cross-posted on my town Facebook page my last Medium piece about the frustrations in getting a vaccine appointment, Amanda introduced herself to me.
Several people had already commented about what I could do to increase my chances of getting an appointment. I thanked them. But noted that it’s difficult for me to click on links all day long as suggested because I work the graveyard shift. So I’m asleep when most of the sites are active. And that’s what prompted Amanda to message me.
She told me she has spent a lot of time helping folks, mainly senior citizens who have difficulty navigating the internet get appointments. And since I’m asleep when many opportunities to register arise, she’d be happy to get one for me.
Amanda is a lady full of confidence. She didn’t say she’d try. She said she would succeed. I felt, what the heck … I have nothing to lose. It was such a generous…
